What is the GOOD FOOD GOOD MOOD Festival?
The most welcoming culinary gathering!
Conceived by Maison Le Marquier, Good Food Good Mood celebrates cooking as a time for sharing, passing on traditions, and enjoying life. Here, we cook outdoors, gather around the griddle, chat, taste, and discover.
With competitions, entertainment, and gourmet experiences, the event highlights flavor, conviviality, and the art of living together, in a unique natural setting in the heart of the Landes region.
The World Plancha Championship
Once upon a time, on the sunny shores of the Atlantic Ocean, there were some clever fishermen who had a brilliant idea: what if we cooked the fish directly on a hot metal griddle over an open flame? No need for a pan, no need for an oven—just a good old steel griddle, a fresh fillet of fish, a little olive oil, and voilà! Griddle cooking was born. Simple, fast, and above all… delicious. The flavors remained intact, the fish stayed tender, and the guests kept smiling.
Over time, the plancha has conquered kitchens around the world. More than just a simple utensil, it has become a symbol of conviviality: we cook together, we share, we laugh, and above all, we feast. And it is precisely this warm and creative atmosphere that inspired the World Plancha Championship!
And this year, it’s time for the big show!
Amateurs and enthusiasts come together for culinary challenges where technique competes with imagination. In pairs, teams face off in good spirits, with a single motto: the joy of cooking and sharing. So, are you ready to step into the arena (or rather, in front of the plancha)?
Cooking workshops
Passionate chefs and experts, including Meilleurs Ouvriers de France and other iconic figures in the culinary world, offer classes and demonstrations open to everyone.
A special opportunity to learn new techniques, discuss ingredients, share unique moments with top chefs, and extend the culinary experience. A rare chance to cook alongside true masters in an atmosphere that is both inspiring and welcoming.
Food-themed activities and experiences
The Good Food Good Mood festival does more than just celebrate grilled cuisine—it’s a true feast for all the senses! With gourmet tastings, a diverse food court blending local flavors and bold creations, lively concerts, and entertainment for all ages, the event is an explosion of good cheer.
Here, you can stroll among the stalls, taste specialties prepared with passion, chat with artisans and chefs, and enjoy a warm and festive atmosphere. A full weekend to meet people, discover, and savor the best of the Landes region in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. In short, an event where pleasure awaits around every corner… and with every bite!

The GOOD FOOD, GOOD MOOD Festival in Numbers
More than 5,000 visitors turned out for this weekend of culinary delights, where 20 hand-picked teams faced off spatula in hand at the World Plancha Championship… under the watchful eye of a jury as prestigious as it was unforgiving (but always eager to indulge)!
At the tasting table:
- David Biraud, a top-tier sommelier and runner-up for World’s Best Sommelier, capable of spotting the slightest misstep… even in a cloud of smoke!
- François-Régis Gaudry, the nation’s culinary authority, with a palate as sharp as his pen.
- Guy Krenzer, two-time Meilleur Ouvrier de France, guardian of the temple of craftsmanship.
- Stéphane Chicheri, the technical eye that misses nothing, not even a dish cooked just a touch too long.
- Julien Duboué, a generous and passionate chef, always ready to bring sunshine to the plate.
- Joseph Viola, a key figure in Lyon’s gastronomic scene and a staunch advocate for quality ingredients.
Needless to say, it was best to have nerves of steel… and a sizzling hot griddle!
And at the end of a sizzling final, it was the French duo Manon and Anthony Picheyre, a couple from Haute-Garonne, who claimed the top prize. Their challenge? To elevate the mandatory ingredient: the famous Landes kiwi. Mission accomplished with flying colors… and a beautiful demonstration that, in the kitchen, love can truly make sparks fly!
